Dental Hygiene

Prevention and education are two of the most important aspects of a successful dental plan. As a part of Robinson Dental’s advanced dental hygiene services, Lynnwood dentist Dr. Brent Robinson evaluates your oral health and determines your level of risk for diseases like tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer. A personally tailored, prevention-based dental plan is then created for you. At Robinson Dental, our dental plans include regular exams and professional cleanings performed by our skilled hygienist every six months, as well as personalized instructions on how to implement the best at-home dental hygiene practices to preserve the beauty of your natural smile.

Dental Hygiene Services

Sometimes additional treatments are required to maintain optimum oral health. At Robinson Dental, our array of hygiene services includes:

  • Fluoride Treatment

Professional-strength fluoride is applied to the surfaces of teeth, making them stronger and protecting them against tooth decay.

  • Periodontal Treatment

This treatment prevents the progression of periodontal disease and returns teeth and gums to a healthy state.

  • Professional Teeth Cleanings

Having your teeth cleaned regularly helps prevent gingivitis, tooth decay, and loss of enamel from teeth.

Guided Biofilm Therapy

  • A Pain Free Dental Hygiene Experience

At Robinson Dental, we use a state-of-the-art technique to maintain your oral health. Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) uses a therapeutic powder mixed with warm water to create a gentle mist that is effective at removing plaque and bacteria. The process is so mild, it will just feel like we are rinsing the teeth and gums with warm water.

  • Diagnostic Dye

The “guided” portion of GBT is a diagnostic dye that we paint on the teeth to reveal the bacteria. Being able to see the stained bacteria allows us to ensure we remove it all and also helps us support you in effective brushing and flossing habits.

  • Therapeutic Powder

The therapeutic powder used with GBT is pure Erythritol. The powder is super fine making it painless and safe to use on enamel, root surfaces, crowns, implants and more. The gentle nature of GBT allows us to do so much more than just “clean teeth” we can truly disinfect the whole mouth including the gums, cheeks, tongue and more. We are able to remove significantly more bacteria from the mouth all while you are comfortable and pain-free.

Gum Therapy

  • Additional Therapies

All of our dental hygiene appointments start with an assessment of your oral health. If it is determined that additional therapies are needed, our Periodontal Therapists will review their findings and work with you on a plan to achieve optimal oral health.

  • Oral DNA Saliva Testing

It is our goal to recommend and treat you with everything you need to get healthy, and nothing that you don’t need. Testing the saliva allows us to see exactly which bacteria are causing there to be a gum infection present. Based on the results, we can recommend specific therapies to target those bacteria to more accurately treat periodontal disease.

  • Pain Management

We offer a wide range of pain and anxiety management options including as little as a cozy blanket and headphones to IV sedation. We will work with you to ensure your comfort during all procedures.

Regardless of your needs, you can be assured that all of our hygiene services are performed by highly trained and experienced dental hygienists who are dedicated to supporting and preserving your continued oral health.
